EDM Obtain Government Contract for CH-47

EDM have obtained a government contract to manufacture a Chinook CH-47 mock-up.

The mock-ups will be an accurate representation of the aircraft and provide the means to practice, develop and validate skills in a safe and controlled environment in all weather and at any time of the day.

They will be designed for ease of operation from an instructional perspective with attention being paid to the speed and efficiency with which a training scenario can be set up, instigated, de-briefed and repeated. Support and maintenance are also an important consideration during the design period, ensuring maintenance tasks can be carried with minimum disruption to training.

Our Procedure Trainers are designed to enhance operational procedures by giving trainees full exposure to actions performed by the crew.

EDM’s Procedure Trainers allow tasks that would normally be completed on the equipment to be conducted remotely, reducing costs and releasing the actual equipment for operational use.

Typical Procedure Trainers are used for weapon loading, canopy/seat operation and removal, evacuation training and familiarization.

We can design and manufacture Procedure Trainers for any type of equipment, ranging from aircraft and land based vehicles through to submarines. We have an in-depth understanding of the functionality and operation of real equipment, which ensures that our Procedure Trainers deliver accurate training in strict accordance with the original equipment manufacturer’s (OEM) operating and maintenance procedures to deliver on effective training.
