EDM’s big golf drive in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support was a success last Friday.

Happily, the weather stayed dry for the sixteen players who took part at Heaton Moor Golf Club in Stockport.

The day started early with bacon bap and a 9 hole team game and a nearest the pins competition and following lunch break, the players went on to play 18 holes of individual games with nearest the pin and longest drive holes.

Some good golf – and not so good golf – was played and individual golfer of the day was Lee Hallsworth who shot a great score of 42 points playing off a 16 handicap. Lee won a trophy which was donated by EDM and a bottle of wine.

Every player received a glass memento to commemorate the day as well as a special golf welcome pack comprising of Callaway golf balls, Masters wooden tees, Masters golf club cleaner, an Asbri golf spirit repairer and a carabainer which were donated by EDM.

In addition to focusing on their golf game, the players carried a Macmillan banner and a bucket to raise awareness for the charity as well as vital funds. All bunker shots received a fine which was added to the collection bucket.

In total the team raised £84.43 and this kick-starts EDM’s campaign for Macmillan for a second year.

EDM’s golf day in aid of Macmillan was a great way to get people involved and to have fun for a good cause.
