EDM completes A220 Door Trainer project for Air Canada.

Manchester, UK. EDM, a leading global provider of training simulators to the civil aviation and defense sectors, announced today that it has completed a project to supply six Door Trainers for Air Canada. The A220-300 Door Trainers have been installed in Canada across three sites: Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto.

The A220-300 Aircraft (previously known as C Series CS300) L1 Door Trainer and Overwing Exit Trainer (hereinafter referred to as L1 DT & OWET respectively) are designed and certified specifically to meet the training requirements as defined in all international cabin crew training standards.https://player.vimeo.com/video/354071024

With this in mind, our Door Trainers are designed to be ultra-realistic in its use to help train cabin crew through various open scenarios. Our equipment parallels the Airbus aircraft, being designed from OEM data, which further benefits:

• DOOR FAMILIARISATION PROCEDURES
• SECURING THE CABIN FOR FLIGHT
• INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL OPERATION OF THE DOOR – NORMAL AND EMERGENCY OPERATION
• CARRYING OUT PRACTICE EVACUATION PROCEDURES
• EXPERIENCING THE FORCE AND MOVEMENT OF THE DOOR AND USE OF DOOR ASSIST HANDLES
• OPERATION OF SLIDE INFLATION PROCEDURE – EMERGENCY OPERATION
• EXPERIENCING, AND THE RECOGNITION OF DOOR MALFUNCTIONS DURING OPERATION
• FLIGHT ATTENDANT’S SEATS USE AND OPERATION
• COMMUNICATIONS, SOUNDS AND ALARMS OPERATION AND RECOGNITION
