EDM providing bespoke modification and upgrade to Jet2.com

EDM Ltd has been selected by Jet2 to work on the refurbishment, repair and upgrade of the airline’s existing B757 door trainer, B737 door trainer and CEET.

The programme of works includes the general repair and upgrade of the airline’s current B757-200 door trainer comprising the installation of a new bulkhead, attendant seats and flooring; a 3D mock-up of the forward attendant panel (FAP); installation of a new control system, power supply and emergency stop system.

A new control system and power supply will be fitted on the B737-300 door trainer which is currently installed within the airline’s CEET. EDM will manufacture and install a simulated infra-red fire scenario system within the CEET, along with a fixed Instructor Operating Station. The operational fire scenarios will be located in the overhead locker, oven, toilet and flight deck whilst operational heat effects will be positioned in the overhead locker and toilet door.

EDM will also perform an upgrade on the B737-800 over wing exit by installing a new steel box section platform with levelling feet, new flooring, and Jet2 livery to the exterior. All programme of works will be implemented and tested in accordance with Boeing aircraft recommended forces.

Work on the programme is due to commence this month and delivery is expected at the carrier’s training centre at Leeds Bradford Airport next year.
