EDM welcomed a visit from the British Embassy in Moscow at its Manchester premises today. Anastasia Akhmedshina, Trade and Investment Advisor for the Aerospace and Advanced Engineering sectors at the British Embassy was accompanied by Charles Jacobson, International Trade Adviser for the UKT&I North West International Trade Team.

The visit was hosted by Mick Bonney, EDM’s Sales and Business Development Director, and EDM’s guests were given a factory tour which included a full demonstration of SEPTRE – EDM’s latest system for cabin crew training.

Mick Bonney said:

“EDM has strong links with Russia through a co-operation with Transas Aviation, our St. Petersburg based partner company, and we have previously supplied cabin crew training equipment to Russian Aeroflot Airlines. EDM welcomes any advice and assistance that the British Embassy in Moscow and UKT&I can provide to assist us with expanding our business in the region.”

The Airbus Global Market Forecast predicts that the Russian aviation sector will experience 5.5% growth per annum over the next 20 years; this is ahead of trend when compared to a forecasted world annual traffic growth of 4.7%.

Mick Bonney adds:

“With a proven track-record of delivering high-quality and cost-competitive training devices to global airlines such as American Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Air China, Garuda Indonesia and Philippine Airlines, EDM is in an excellent position to satisfy the training requirements of Russia’s growing airline sector.”
