EDM Ltd has successfully achieved Factory Acceptance of the latest Typhoon Single Seat Crew Escape and Safety Systems Trainer (SSCESST), following a comprehensive Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) conducted in collaboration with the UK Ministry of Defence and BAE Systems.
The successful FAT marks a significant programme milestone and confirms the system’s readiness ahead of delivery to RAF Coningsby, where it will support Typhoon technician training.
Throughout the acceptance process, EDM worked closely with representatives from the UK MoD and BAE Systems to ensure all technical requirements were met and that any issues identified during testing were addressed promptly and effectively, with a clear solutions-focused approach.

Quote from UK MoD/BAE acceptance team member:
“Chris and the team, including Howard, Michelle and Max, were exceptional hosts and true assets to your organisation and its reputation. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel genuinely welcome.
Every issue identified during testing was met with enthusiasm, determination, and a solutions-focused mindset. There was never a sense of resistance, only a shared commitment to getting it right.
You should be extremely proud of your team. They not only demonstrated strong technical capability, but also the right attitudes and behaviours that build lasting professional partnerships.”
The SSCESST has been developed to provide realistic and robust training in Typhoon crew escape and safety systems procedures, forming a key part of the RAF’s world-class technician training capability.
EDM extends its thanks to all personnel involved in achieving this important milestone and looks forward to delivering the trainer to RAF Coningsby.
