Manchester, UK – EDM Ltd has further strengthened its long-standing relationship with All Nippon Airways (ANA) following the successful delivery and installation of a new Boeing 787 L1 Door Trainer at the ANA Blue Base.
The trainer will join a fleet of existing EDM training devices previously supplied to ANA, further supporting the airline’s cabin crew training capability at one of its key training facilities. Designed and manufactured by EDM at its UK headquarters in Manchester, the B787 Door Trainer provides ANA’s crew with a realistic, hands-on environment to practise essential aircraft door procedures. The device has been developed to support training across normal, abnormal and emergency scenarios, helping crew build confidence, maintain procedural accuracy and prepare for real-world operational situations.
The trainer includes a representative B787 L1 main exit door, cabin attendant seat, instructor operator station, digital sound system and door control systems. It also allows instructors to introduce training scenarios and simulated malfunctions, supporting effective learning in a secure and controlled environment.
Kengo Hanaoka, Vice President of ANA, stated:
“ANA is pleased to have received our second B787 Door Trainer from EDM.
This new trainer is an invaluable asset for our cabin crew, to acquire the skills required for emergency evacuation procedures, ensuring the highest level of safety for our passengers.”
Speaking on the project, [James Bird, Head of Civil Aviation Sales] said:
“This latest B787 DT adds to the large number of EDM Group training devices at ANA, which is particularly special. I’d like to sincerely thank ANA once again for their custom, and continued trust in EDM.
