simEDM Successfully Completes Factory Acceptance Testing for China Airlines A350 and B777 Door Trainers
EDM Group is pleased to announce that its Malaysian operation, simEDM, has successfully completed Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for two aircraft door trainers manufactured for China Airlines.
The Airbus A350 and Boeing 777 door trainers have been designed and manufactured at simEDM’s facility in Malaysia and will be used to support China Airlines’ cabin crew training programmes.
Both trainers have been developed to replicate the operation of their respective aircraft doors, providing cabin crew with a realistic environment in which to practise routine operations and emergency procedures. The equipment allows trainees to gain hands-on experience with the aircraft door systems, helping them build the knowledge and confidence required for real-world situations.
The successful Factory Acceptance Testing confirms that both trainers have met the agreed technical specifications and performance requirements. It marks an important stage in the project, following months of work across design, engineering, manufacturing and assembly.
A Significant Milestone for the simEDM Team
The achievement is particularly significant for the team in Malaysia, coming exactly one year after JoY joined EDM Group.
Over the past 12 months, JoY and his team have worked to develop the operation’s capabilities and deliver projects for the international aviation training market. The successful completion of the China Airlines project is an important milestone for the team and a reflection of the work that has gone into bringing both trainers to this stage.
The project also demonstrates the manufacturing and engineering capabilities available through simEDM, which continues to play an important role in EDM Group’s international operations.
With facilities in both the UK and Malaysia, EDM Group designs and manufactures a wide range of specialist aviation training equipment, including cabin emergency evacuation trainers, aircraft door trainers and bespoke training systems for airlines and training organisations worldwide.
