EDM’s Mick Bonney, Director – Sales and Business Development, has been asked to take part in the UKTI North West Export Champions Scheme next year.
As an Export Champion, Mick will help to mentor other small and medium sized enterprises based in the region who are trying to get started in international trade and are signed up to the UKTI Passport to Export Programme.
EDM successfully exports to a number of international markets including China, Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, North America, Europe, the Middle East and most recently, the company secured a new customer in Africa.
Mick Bonney said:
“I am very pleased to facilitate with the UKTI’s initiative to encourage more local companies to export. EDM has acquired a lot of experience in this area and I am sure that we can provide valuable insight and best practice for these companies that are taking their first steps to get involved in international business. It can be a daunting prospect but we hope that by talking about EDM’s achievements that we can inspire confidence.”
Clive Drinkwater, Director UKTI North West added:
“As a region, we need to sell more products and services overseas and UKTI are determined to encourage and support as many companies as possible to take up the export challenge – we know that companies are encouraged and inspired by their peers, so the success stories of our Export Champions are hugely influential.”
The UKTI North West has enlisted the support of 62 Export Champions in total and they will be available throughout 2015 at UK Trade & Investment events across the region.
