Work on the programme is being carried out at EDM’s 100,000 square foot facility in Manchester, UK, where the company has the capability to undertake the assembly and test of large structures such as aircraft fuselages, motion platforms and fabricated structures.
Ethiopian Airlines appointed EDM earlier this year to design and manufacture a comprehensive range of cabin crew training equipment including:-
- Narrowbody Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer (CEET) on an Electric Motion System
- Widebody Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer
- A350 Door Trainer
- Extended B767 Door Trainer
- Extended Q400 Door Trainer
The programme is expected to run for 18 months and following this, EDM will install the training devices at Ethiopian Airline’s training centre at Bola International Airport, Addis Ababa.
