Garuda Indonesia selects EDM to supply multiple cabin crew training equipment

EDM has been selected by Garuda Indonesia Airlines to design and manufacture a range of cabin crew training equipment. EDM was selected by the airline as part of an international tender and will work in co-operation with Xi’an Feibao, its Chinese partner company, to deliver this substantial programme which includes:-

The B777-300ER Door Trainer will incorporate the usual EDM standard door trainer features and a single cabin attendant’s seat with harness. The CRJ 1000 Door Trainer will have an access staircase to the Door Trainer and will also have a single cabin attendant’s seat with harness.

The Cabin Service Trainer will feature a new premium class cabin product including:-

  • Super First Class Suites
  • Lie-flat Business Class seats
  • First and Business Class lavatories
  • Overhead stowage bins
  • Fully functional cabin lighting system including mood lighting
  • Monuments
  • Fully functional galley including oven, stowage, coffee maker, water boiler and taps
  • Flight attendant seats
  • Training instructor control room including interphone system to cabin

All training devices will be installed at Garuda’s Training Centre in Jakarta, Indonesia, and delivery of the two door trainers is expected at the end of 2013, with the cabin service trainer following in the second quarter of 2014.
