Carbon Reduction Plan

EDM are conscious of the impact climate change will have on the global aviation and engineering markets therefore EDM are committed to developing sustainable and environmentally conscious products.

In order to do this, we are striving to:

• Monitor and Reduce Environmental impacts on energy usage.
Electricity usage for 2024 / 2025 average = 1.99kW/Worked Man Hour (WMH)
Target of 5% reduction in usage = 1.89KW/WMH over a 12-month period

• This will be done by driving best practices, turning machines off in downtime, promoting staff awareness.Gas usage for 2024 / 2025 average = 0.3kW/WMH
Target to maintain within 5% of this usage.
Water usage for 2024 / 2025 average = 0.01 Litres I WMH
Target to maintain within 5% of this usage.• Monitor and reduce the waste streams such as:
Hazardous waste• Review of hazardous waste streams to see if new methods can reduce or eliminate hazardous chemicals. Report to quantify if a reduction method can be implemented by end of 2026.
General waste
• Review General waste streams to see if more waste can be separated our and recycled.
• Current General Waste produced = 372Kg per person avg.
• Target to reduce general waster by 20% to 297.6Kg per person avg.
This is to be done by identifying additional waste streams for recycling, reducing waste produced, and reusing potential waste items.
Paper waste
• 250 Bags Shredded 2024 / 2025 equating to 1.6 bags per person shredded average. Target to reduce to 1 bag per person shredded.
• Promote the reduction of printed media, in still a company ethic of think before print.
• Develop the quality management which complies with the ISO 14001 Standard.
• Implement the IMS and include ISO 14001 approval at the Holt Street facility.
