Maintenance Trainers

EDM’s Maintenance Trainers give organisations a cost-effective and safe way to deliver realistic, hands-on training. They remove the need to take real equipment out of service, which saves both time and cost. Each trainer accurately replicates real-world systems and environments, allowing teams to practise maintenance and safety procedures with confidence.

For example, EDM designed and developed an Ejection System Maintenance Trainer for Lockheed Martin to support the F-35 Lightning II training system programme. This advanced trainer teaches students the skills needed to maintain the F-35’s ejection seat and canopy jettison systems. It also provides a safe setting for pilot ingress and egress training, ensuring learners gain practical experience before working with real aircraft.

In addition, EDM has the capability to design and manufacture procedure trainers for a wide range of industries. These include aircraft operation and maintenance, control room systems for power stations, and simulators for process plants or submarines. Each training solution is designed to deliver accurate, high-fidelity simulation that supports skill development and operational readiness.

Our Trainers cover the following training requirements:

  • Familiarisation training
  • Pre-development training
  • Routine maintenance training
  • Safety training
  • Fault diagnosis
  • Individual and team training
  • Use of real equipment
  • Deployed training

Furthermore, instructors can introduce simulated faults that would be difficult or unsafe to reproduce on live systems. This approach helps trainees develop problem-solving skills and confidence in diagnosing and correcting faults. As a result, personnel enter real operations better prepared and more capable.
