EDM signs new contract to support Chinese airlines

Continuing their success in China, EDM have recently signed another contract with the Xian Feibao Airport Equipment Company to supply aircraft training equipment to a number of Chinese Airlines next year.

The collaboration with Xian Feibao includes the provision of EDM B737 evacuation training equipment to Xiamen Airlines and Hainan Airlines.

EDM has developed intelligent operating systems to replicate the aircraft cabin and provide Xiamen, Hainan and Sichuan Airlines with CEET motion flight control and flight scenario software, Instructor Operating Station (IOS) software and lesson planning, together with a cabin audio sound system and scene visual systems for doors and windows. The auto-programmed lessons are referenced against the aircraft and regulatory authority standards, and allow instructors to create their own lesson plans. The development of these products future-proofs the equipment and allows the greatest scope for flexible training.

EDM’s export to the Chinese airline market has included delivery of an engineering mock-up of the C919 for COMAC, B787 and A380 Door Trainers to China Southern, B737 Door Trainer to Xiamen Airlines and an A330 Door Trainer –to the Shanghai Training School, run by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

Additionally EDM will deliver an A330 CEET and a B737 CEET to Air China next year.
